One of the new special infected characters of Left 4 Dead 2 is the spitter. This creature spews forth what seems like a river of acid that does damage to the survivors that step into it. This is not a small pool of acid either, its a freaking huge pool of acid that can block an alleyway or even a road.
One of the things about the spitter, it does not have very much health. Attacking the survivors as a spitter by itself is not going to do a lot of good. So team up with a smoker, hunter or boomer to dish out extra damage.
When a spitter spews its acid onto the road, its going to be easy to ID. Its going to be a pool of green looking stuff that is bubbling. If a survivor goes into the goo – they will take damge. So if your playing the survivor – do not step in the green slim looking stuff.
When the acid appears, there might be a message on the screen saying “Try to avoid the noxious acid!” Take that warning seriously. Just one step on the acid that the survivor will start taking damage. This will be useful if the spitter can “spit” on a survivor that the smoker has pulled.
Here is a cute Left 4 Dead 2 Demo video that talks about a lot of stuff from the video. There is no actual gameplay, just a bunch of text. The song playing in the video is from the demo and is called “badman.” About 3 minutes into the video, the song changes and goes to “when the saints come marching home.”
Overall, the video contains a lo of good information, such as what weapons and items are good for certain situations.
Finally, after playing through the Left 4 Dead 2 Demo several times the female boomer spawned and I was lucky enough to get a screenshot. There would have been more screenshots, but my team members were down, so this boomer had to be blasted into little pirces so we could continue the mission.
There does not seem to be any real difference between the female and male boomer – in in how far they spew the vomit. It would be cool if the female version had a high pitched scream or something.
For those of you wondering what the Left 4 Dead 2 Demo is like, here is a gameplay video for you.
In the L4D2 Demo, players start right after they are dropped off by a shrimp boat. From there the survivors have to fight through 2 levels of special and regular infected zombies.

The weapons, items and special infected spawn at random times and at random locations. One time through the game the assualt rifle might spawn at a certain location, the next time through it might be a shotgun, auto shotty (noob tube), assualt shotgun, hunting rifle. One time through pills might spawn at a certain location, the next time nothing. This makes the game a lot more random then the original Left 4 Dead, where there were set locations for items.
The Left 4 Dead 2 Demo also gives a nice example of special infected. While playing through the demo, one time a female boomer might spawn, the next time a tank, the next time a spitter, the next time a charger,, you never know what is around the corner.
Hopefully, the rest of the game will be as much fun as the demo.
There seem sot be a glitch in the Left 4 Dead 2 Demo. In this video a player is able to climb up some pipes and get on the rooftop. It takes some precise jumping on his part, but he is still able to do it.
Even though having the power meter and pipes on the wall looks good, it creates a problem with survivors being able to use them. One question is, is this a real glitch, or was it put there for people to be able to get on the rooftops?
The Left 4 Dead 2 Demo release date has been pushed back one day. But why did Xbox players get their demo sooner then PC Gamers? Did Microsoft pay Valve software to delay the PC version? The PC Demo is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, October 28
The delay brings up another question, if the people at Valve can not even release a demo on time, will the game be finished? Will left 4 dead 2 be like the original with not finished maps, invisible walls, physics problems,,,,?
This does not build a customers confidence that they are buying a finished product. The next question is, why was Steam updating so much last night? Some people have posted that all of their Steam games were updating.
This looks like a Gamestop TV commercial for Left 4 Dead 2. Preorder and you can get the baseball bat.
Hopefully Left 4 Dead 2 will make up for the originals shortcomings in the melee weapon department. That is one thing that I never understood about the original Left 4 Dead. Society has fallen apart, and there is not a single sporting goods store around? One thing about a baseball bat, you do not have to reload it.

I say 24 – 36 hours because its 7:50am in the morning, and Valve has a reputation of not releasing stuff until late in the evening on the day its “supposed” to be released. So it might not be released until the early morning hours of October 28th for you people that live in Asia and Europe.
That is just the way that the people at Valve software do things. I think it was the Orange Box that was not released until the next day for people that live in Europe and Asia. I remember people from Europe posting in the Steam forums, “its 1:00 am here, I thought the game was supposed to be released yesterday” – meaning the release date had come and gone for them.
I’am hoping the L4D2 demo is released by 5pm central US time, so I can play it when I get home from work.
